TRIAL CLASSES
Can my dancer try a class to see if they like it?
Absolutely. You may sign up for (1) FREE trial class in the style your dancer would be most interested in. If you wish to take an additional trial class, the cost would be $15 for the additional class.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
What is your attendance policy for your recreational classes?

We expect all dancers to be in class every week however we understand sometimes situations come up that require a student to miss. We do not provide makeup classes for missed classes by a student. If a class is cancelled due to teacher illness or other circumstances those classes will be made up at a later point in time; most of the time closer to the recital or holiday. We do work in 2 cancellations per season due to unpredicatbility of Ohio weather and those would not be made up.

Dancers are expected to be in class the week prior to recital as this is when we are learning last minute corrections as well as dress rehearsal.

If your dancer got sent home sick or has been sick within the last 24 hours, we request that you keep your student at home in order to protect the health of all involved in your child's class and for your child's well being.

TUITION
What does tuition cover for your recreational classes?

Tuition is charged per month and INCLUDES class every week in the program your child is enrolled in (example Tuesday Creative Movement every Tuesday at same time), spring recital costume (June show only), and a spring t-shirt (typically given out prior to recital in spring). Tuition prices are listed with class descriptions HERE

There will be an additional charge for any special teams or other performances your child may participate in. Including but not limited to Christmas recital, Cavs Performance Team, Competition Team, or any other performance opportunity out side of the normal weekly classes your child participates in. Additional costuming will also be required and those expectations will be sent out via email and posted in our lobby as soon as the event info is posted.

Tuition is automatically withdrawn on the first of the month. Tuition must be paid in full on the first of the month, every month. Late fees will be assessed on the 5th of every month. Removal from the program will happen on the 10th. Any balance due will be referred to collections.
Is tuition per class or per month?

Tuition is every weekly class in one style (example: if your child is enrolled in Jazzy Acro, your dancer will come every week, on the class day so in this instance every Thursday at 5:00pm-5:45pm).
CANCELLATION POLICY
What is your cancellation policy for your recreational classes?

We require 30 days notice via email darcy@missdarcysacademy.com . 30 days will start from the day of the receipt of the email. Example if your notice comes in on the 28th of the month, your withdrawal date will be be the 28th however you will be still be required to pay the next month in full. Verbal notification is not acceptable form of cancelling our program. You may continue to take classes until your paid classes have been used.
What if I want to change classes after my class has already started?

Class changes can be made up til March 1 for any dancer currently enrolled at our studio. If you need to make a style change, please understand that you will need that style of shoes in order to transfer over and also take posssible private lessons to get caught up on any technqiues missed in that style and learn the choregarphy that has been taught over the course of the season.
Can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds. All sales are final.

What is my child expected to wear for each class?

What if I cant get the shoes for the first class?

Your dancer can still participate in class in comfy clothing such as leggings/sweatpants, tshirt and athletic shoes and socks until items arrive.

Students need to have proper shoes by their third week of class.
PARENT VIEWING POLICY
Am I able to watch my child's class?

We have a very small waiting area with very limited seating for dancers families to be present and assist the child as needed.

Our studio and waiting area share the same space so noise needs to be kept at a minimum. Please silence cell phones, ipads and other devices and keep talking low and to a mininium. If a class has to be stopped to address noise on a regular basis, class viewing will cease until further notice.

Non dancers including siblings and parents are not permitted on the dance floor
Am I able to take video and/or pictures of my child's class?

Yes you may take photos of your child in class and we would love to be tagged in your photos on social media #mdahouseofdance. Videoing of your child's dance routine is also encouraged so that they can practice at home.

All students are required to sign the photo policy when enrolling in our programming. Due to the nature of our classes, community events, and recitals we require that everyone be permitted to be videoed or photographed.
